Natives - the most popular trend in flowers recently. But a few common misconceptions surround these gorgeous flowers. Typically people think the reference of "natives' mean they are Australian Native flowers, which can be true for some. However some of the most popular "natives" actually originate from South Africa. Proteas, Blushing Brides, Leucadendron and King Proteas are of South African descent, whereas Kangaroo Paw, Grevillea and Waratahs are from Australian origin. Another misconception is that native bouquets are dark and heavy. Not always the case! We love mixing up bouquets and adding some softness with roses, orchids and peonies to tone down the colour pallet and create texture. See the gallery below for a selection of "native' style bouquets we've created.
